The European Championships in Zurich proved to be very successful for Polish athletes, who bring home 12 medals, including two gold, five silver and five bronze.

Jerzy Skucha, head of the Polish Athletics Federation, said that the Zurich games were not only a show of the best athletes, but showed that a new generation was coming through, that had to the fight to win.
