The Polish fur industry, already the second largest in Europe, is booming. Yet as animal rights activists claim this is no source of pride, citing rife cases of inhumane treatment of animals in the sector. Today is International Fur-Free Day.

Magdalena Brzezińska from the NGP Open Cages is interviewed by Alicja Baczyńska.

"The most outrageous footage that we've seen [is that of] animals kept with open wounds, eating each other; and the farmers are not doing anything about it," says Brzezińska.

"If the wounds are not affecting the fur that will be sold at the end, the farmers are not curing the animal, because it's not affordable and because it's not efficient."
