A special convoy numbering almost 40 trucks has left Warsaw with humanitarian aid for Ukrainians in the east of the country who are feeling the brunt of the fighting seen there over the course of this year.

As John Beauchamp reports, the convoy is sponsored by the Polish Foreign Affairs Ministry in cooperation with the Fire Brigade and a number of Polish charitable organisations.

On Wednesday evening Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz said “We are here to show how much we really care about the victims of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. [This marks] just the beginning of what we are able to provide for our neighbours to the east of our border.”
