Kraków hosts IIHF ice hockey championships
Krakow is hosting the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey Division I Group A World Championship starting this Sunday.
As Danuta Isler reports, the games will take place at Kraków Arena, which has already hosted the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship tournament and is scheduled to host the 2016 European Men's Handball Championship.
The competition will be contested between Italy, Kazakhstan, Japan, Ukraine, Hungary and Poland.
"I think everyone has equal chances in the group but if I were to forecast I would point to Kazakhstan as the favourite in the group," the coach of the national team Jacek Płachta said. Poland are currently ranked 21st in the world in the IIHF World Rankings.
