The problem of migrants and refugees grows to ever new heights as the EU calls an extraordinary summit.

As Sławek Szefs reports, the decision has been directly related to the latest tragedy involving a ship with refugees from Libya trying to reach the coast of Italy which claimed hundreds of lives.

“The tragic situation of refugees fleeing across the Mediterranean to seek shelter on the European side is unacceptable,” said European Council president Donald Tusk calling an extraordinary EU summit for Thursday.

"What is [urgently] needed are legal solutions to be implemented by the EU,” Rafał Kostrzyński from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Office in Warsaw told Polish Radio.
