Władysław Bartoszewski, the former PM’s plenipotentiary for international dialogue, historian, journalist, Auschwitz prisoner and Home Army soldier, died in Warsaw at the age of 93, on Friday.
Poland and the world remember him for his invaluable merits in building the democratic state of Poland, and for active involvement in Polish German and Polish Jewish dialogue.
Poland has lost one of the greatest authorities in the country, and an example of Polish patriotism said President Bronislaw Komorowski.
“Władysław Bartoszewski is a model of patriotism for us, and I would like that we all cherish him in our memory and in our hearts as an example of an ardent patriot, open to others , looking into the past but also into the future".
