Michelle Castelletti, artistic director of the RNCM, tells Michal Kubicki that the U.K. premiere of Penderecki’s ‘Seven Gates of Jerusalem’ was given a standing ovation and a five-star review from The Guardian.

The magic and the harshness of Polish music reflect the truth about society. […] These [Polish] composers are actually writing about society. It’s not just music. It’s about society and its spirituality. It’s very deep’, Castelletti says.
