With Poland experiencing yet another hot summer, the country may have to review its water usage habits.

In an exclusive interview for Radio Poland, Professor Kazimierz Banasik of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences says that the seventh consecutive hot summer is bound to result in lower farm production and a higher concentration of pollutants in rivers.

With Poland being almost at the bottom of the European list as regards the amount of renewable freshwater resources (only Belgium and Malta have less water), ‘we should invest in reservoirs to be able to store water and we should not allow for water to be wasted.’
