Jazzing it up

The festival, which starts Sunday, 8 November, has been widely acclaimed for its diverse mix of jazz.

The artistic director, Tomasz Stańko, and his daughter and agent, Anna Stańko, talked with Kamila Kudelska about organising the festival.

The renowned Polish jazz trumpeter, composer, and bandleader who has won many prestigious awards in his long career also speaks about his perception of jazz throughout the years.

“This process is kind of pretty similar, like my process of composition [of] music,” said Tomasz Stanko.

“I use my knowledge as a musician, as a composer to just improvise, in time, [a] programme for the festival.”
