The Bombay Industries Association was created in 1948 with the aim ofconnecting the government and the Indian industries, it was also instrumental in developing industrial parks in the Mumbai area. It currently has around 850 plus members - both small and medium enterprises and large companies representing a scope of industries from metal production, pharmaceuticals and chemicals through rubber industries and plastics to engineering. "I think it will be a good opportunity for Polish and Indian people to develop some good business because I think the bilateral trade has not been recently explored much. India is growing very fast, Poland is also growing so it's a good time to have business relation with each other". Rajendra Kothari, the President to the Bombay Industries Association told CET.

The visit comes almost two months after a sucessfull Polish participation in the Make in India summit in Mumbai - the event which sought to encourage foreign investors and companies to invest and get products manufactured in India. It also follows two economic delegations dispatched to India by the Development Ministry in the first quarter of the year.
