Board representatives of public media from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary - Visegrad Countries - have met in the Moravian city of Brno, and various ideas were tossed around.

It was the first such get-together but planned not to be the last, especially in regard to the conclusion that these near neighbours knew much too little about each other.

Head of Polish Radio Barbara Stanisławczyk-Żyła commented that she was returning to Warsaw convinced that a period of close and good cooperation was just beginning:

“Everyone is looking ahead to such cooperation,” she said.

“We exchanged experiences, expectations and projects we want to realize,” she added.

Meanwhile head of Polish public television TVP Jacek Kurski proposed a joint Polish-Czech-Slovak-Hungarian television network, broadcasting in English, specially designed to present the joint interests of Visegrad states.
