Polish-Russian border restrictions beneficial for budget
Government officials presented data indicating that the suspension of local border traffic between Poland and Russia will be financially beneficial to the budget.

As Michał Owczarek reports, Poland suspended visa-free local border traffic agreements with both Ukraine and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad early July due to concerns about security ahead of World Youth Days and the NATO summit in Warsaw.
“The local border traffic agreement with Ukraine has since been restored, but that with Russia remains suspended. […] Polish residents were involved in smuggling. Keeping the local border traffic suspended is going to benefit the state budget,” said Marian Banaś, the head of the Customs Service.
