  • Poland presents declaration on Carbon Dioxide reduction in Marrakech
Less than one year after adopting the Paris climate agreement, world leaders and negotiators are meeting for talks in Marrakesh at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP22, started early last week.

Delegates, including a Polish delegation, are working on making national climate plans as clear and transparent as possible. As Michał Owczarek reports, Poland is presenting a declaration on how the country is going to implement the Paris agreement provisions.

“[Poland’s] challenge would be to make use of its natural resources while keeping the climate protected. Just like you can’t blame Saudi Arabia for having its oil riches, you can’t blame Poland for having a lot of coal and lignite,” said Paweł Sałek, deputy environment minister, and head of the Polish COP22 delegation.
