This year’s day is being held under the theme “Towards Sustainable Futures through Multilingual Education”, underlining the importance of access to schooling.
This aspect is of particular importance to the Polish authorities, who are lobbying for Polish language instruction in schools abroad.
According to estimates, up to 20 million Poles or people of Polish descent are dispersed across the globe.
