Combating modern-day slavery
The problem of modern slavery has been discussed at a conference organised in Warsaw, followed by workshops for Polish law enforcement officers in combating human trafficking.

According to estimates, near on 46 million people worldwide are slaves. Within that number are women forced into prostitution or girls forced to marry older men; agricultural, domestic and factory workers; children in sweatshops, but also those in forced labour or bonded labour.
Although slavery is illegal on a global scale, it is also present on a global scale, and part of a giant, illicit, international industry.
Ways of fighting human trafficking were discussed at a conference and workshops for law enforcers organised at the British embassy in Warsaw and the Police Training Centre in Legionowo.
