Sławek Szefs reports that such a declaration followed decisions taken by the British parliament to formally commence the UK's departure from the European Union.

Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło on Tuesday stressed that the decision of granting only political assurances of maintaining the rights of foreign migrants should not be treated as final, and the issue is still up for discussion during the approaching EU summit in Rome.

She added that the matter is yet to be negotiated with the British side.

“The EU summit ahead of us is to be devoted to these negotiations and one of the major topics shall concern acquired rights," Szydło said.
