“Polish literature is wonderful”
In an interview for Radio Poland, a prominent translator of Polish literature into English, Antonia Lloyd-Jones, says that in Britain the thinking about Polish literature is very stereotypical.
“People are stuck in the idea that it is sad and gloomy, about suffering, war and the Holocaust,” she said. “I’m always trying to tell them that there’s an awful lot more to it, that Polish literature is wonderful and needs to be discovered”.
