Its construction took four-and-a-half years and cost over EUR 100 million (PLN 426 million). It boasts some 2,500 exhibits as well as 250 multimedia stations, which allows visitors to browse through archival photos, films, and maps.
As Michał Owczarek reports, its permanent exhibition, covering almost 5,000 square metres, makes it the largest historical museum in Poland.
“Our exhibit includes two tanks, many firearms, and equipment used by soldiers. Military history is naturally displayed here but it is not part of the museum’s main message,” said Piotr Majewski, the Museum’s deputy director.
