American actor Edward Norton was awarded the Glocal Hero Award at the Transatlantic film and music festival, which he attended in Łódź, central Poland.

Norton was among a plethora of celebrities to attend the festival.

The award is granted by the festival to outstanding personalities whose activities shape the image of the present world.

The Transatlantic Festival is the brain child of Jan Kaczmarek, a Polish soundtrack composer and Oscar laureate for the music to Finding Neverland.

He is also a member of the American and European Film Academies.

The Transatlantic hosts famous personalities of the world of film and music, its programme abounds in screenings, concerts and meetings with the outstanding guests, many of whom also hold master classes.

Norton was this year's special guest. The actor, film director and producer, known for his roles in Birdman, 25th Hour, Fight Club and Primal Fear, who spoke about his films and his involvement in many social campaigns.
