Poles celebrate European Day of Languages
Poland, where the importance of learning foreign languages has long been appreciated, is marking the European Day of Lanugages on Tuesday.

The day was established at the initiative of the Council of Europe and it has been celebrated since 2001.
In the opinion of Professor Małgorzata Pamuła-Behres from the Institute of Polish Philology at the Pedagogical University in Kraków, learning a foreign language is far more than just mastering its grammar and new words.
"It's learning about another culture, learning to be open, to know that we can be different,” she told Polish Radio.
