The shooting of a movie about the fabled 303 Polish Fighter Squadron that flew as part of the UK's RAF is almost complete.

The “303 Squadron” flick tells the story of the most successful flying unit of the Battle of Britain.

Although it depicts the same events, the screenplay is not directly based on the "303 Squadron" bestseller by the late Polish writer Arkady Fiedler who conducted extensive interviews with pilots in England during the war.

The majority of the pilots in the squadron were Polish.

The 303 Squadron destroyed the highest number of aircraft of all the allied fighter squadrons engaged in the Battle of Britain.

Some final shots of the movie were taken over the weekend in Warsaw.

“We still have some additional shots in France and England and then we complete shooting and go to the postproduction phase [of the movie which] will be out in the first half of next year,” director Denis Delić said.
