As her government marked the midpoint of its term, Prime Minister Beata Szydlo said during a press conference on Tuesday that Poles are better off, while the ruling Law and Justice party's leader Jarosław Kaczynski pointed to the government’s 500+ program of state payouts for families, and to moves to increase OAP pensions and to reduce unemployment as accomplishments.

Also, the Polish economy grew 4.7% in the third quarter, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Tuesday, while registered unemployment continues dropping, having fallen to a historic low of 6.6% in October.

So do these numbers make Poland an attractive destination for foreign investors, and if so, how much of the economic success can be attributed to the current government?

"We'll see what happens. There are certain things I don't like. We hope they will do the smart things that continue to make Poland the only country in Europe which for 27 years in a row has not had a recession," John Lynch, founder and CEO of Lynka and one of the first American entrepreneurs to set up a startup in Kraków, told Radio Poland.
