Duda said that peace on the Korean peninsula was of utmost importance for Poland, which wants to engage itself in de-escalating tension on the Korean Peninsula while it is a member of the UN Security Council.

“We are trying to find out what should be done here so that North Korea is no longer a threat... In the coming two years Poland is a member of the UN Security Council, we are the Vice-Chair for 2018 on the committee for sanctions against North Korea. Poland wants to take part of this mediating process, a process which will hopefully lead to the de-escalation of the tension”.

During his official trip to South Korea, Duda also met the country's president Moon Jea-in, spoke to business circles and received honorary Seoul citizenship.
