Sławek Szefs reports that despite government plans for the imminent construction of the Central Communication Port - which envisages the creation of a giant aviation, road and rail complex in the very heart of the country - Warsaw's Chopin is going ahead with a consistent expansion policy.

This investment is strongly advocated by the national carrier LOT Polish Airlines. Its spokesman Adrian Kubicki says the move would enable more efficient streamlining of passenger traffic which has been steadily growing over recent years.

“Of course, it requires agreement between the management of Chopin airport and the National Defense Ministry, which is the owner of the military [part of the] apron [adjacent to the civilian facilities],” Kubicki told Polish Radio.
