Poland's singing debut at Wagner festival in Bayreuth
Polish singers will perform at the famed Wagner festival at Bayreuth for the first time in the event's history.

Bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny, currently one of the world's best Wagnerians, was scheduled to sing in the new production of Lohengrin that opens the festival this Wednesday.
A last-minute alteration in the title role brought in another Pole - the magnificent tenor Piotr Beczała.
