In the wake of a conference in Lublin that can be said to introduce the coming 2019 edition of the Antonina Campi vocal contest in that city.
Dedicated to music and Polish culture in a wide sense, the guiding theme of the interdisciplinary meeting were lesser known topics of Polish culture at the turn of the 18th and 19th century - and that also in a context of the promotion of Polish music and culture in the late nineteenth century, towards Poland's recovery of independence a hundred years ago.
Just how hard a task that proved - and how its effects are being felt to this day - is highlighted by Conference Director Mateusz Wiśniewski, and Artistic Director of Antonina Campi competition, the soprano Ewa Vesin. They are talking to Elżbieta Krajewska.
