Ambassadors of EU countries over the weekend backed new proposals which could complicate plans for a gas pipeline from Russia to Germany. The Nord Stream 2 project has been long opposed by Warsaw and other governments in the region as it aims to send Russian gas to Germany via the Baltic Sea, bypassing the Baltic states, Poland and Ukraine.
