A 50 year-old Pole has been taken into custody after being caught in the possession of 100 kilogrammes of marijuana and 70 kilogrammes of amphetamines with a value of 4 million zloty (around 1 million euro).
The arrest took place in an unnamed EU country, police reports claim.
According to Poland’s Central Investigation Bureau, the man was acting as a courier for an international criminal gang.
“The Central Investigation Bureau has been probing an international criminal racket for some time,” police spokesman Mariusz Sokolowski told the PAP news agency, adding that “Police police has been cooperating with other EU forces” in the investigation.
The man now faces up to 15 years in prison. (jb)
