Warsaw to complete PLN 110 million bridge renovation by Nov.

The Warsaw municipality is hoping to reopen the burnt-down bridge in October or November 2015, deputy mayor said on Thursday.

The central government will cover half the PLN 110 million (EUR 26.5 million) cost of the renovation of the Most Łazienkowski, which burnt down on 14 February, Mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz said on Thursday.
The municipality plans to sign a contract for the bridge’s reconstruction with an architect by the end of February and choose a subcontractor over the following week. The bridge’s project is to be ready by the end of March.
The project does not require the usual tender procedures due to the need for speed, he said. (an)
