Writing in the name of the Polish episcopate, or the conference of bishops, Miziński said the convention fails to combat violence and instead imposes an ideological revolution.

The convention lays the blame for domestic violence at the door of tradition and culture, instead of individual human weakness or error, the bishop writes on the eve of the senate debate on the ratification.

“The convention does not seek to build positive relationships between people, but serves reconstruction of society on an ideological basis and for that reason cannot be accepted,” the open letter calls on the senators. (an)
