PM Kopacz: I hope Biernat investigation will be quick

A conclusion into corruption charges of former sports minister Andrzej Biernat by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) is eagerly awaited by the Civic Platform (PO) party.

The PAP news agency has learned that the governing PO party wants Andrzej Biernat to run on the Łódź ballot.
“I do not want to prejudge this situation. I want the relevant institutions to conclude the proceedings, and then will come the time for conclusions. Today, as we know, proceedings were instituted. I want to know the conclusion of the matter, and I hope that it will happen quite quickly,” PM Kopacz said.
Kopacz added that she did not speak to Biernat about the pending proceedings against him.
"I knew that he had already testified to the CBA," Kopacz said.
Former sports minister Andrzej Biernat allegedly did not include real estate which he owned in his tax returns, leading to suspicions of corruption. (rg)
