“We appeal [to the President] for such a meeting, because in this dialogue, we are missing the most important people in the country,” said Piechociński, the head of minor ruling coalition member Polish People’s Party (PSL) .

Piechociński wants President Duda to meet with representatives of the main parliamentary groups, local government officials and representatives of churches and religious associations to discuss the issue.

“It's about meeting all those who mean something in Polish politics and public life. In view of the uncertainties and risks that arise today, we have to work out a positive Polish scenario together,” Piechociński told a press conference on Wednesday.

Recently, Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz also appealed for a meeting with President Duda. The two have not held an official meeting to discuss national issues since Duda assumed office on 6 August. (rg/rk)
