Conservative opposition leads opinion polls

Ahead of Poland's parliamentary elections on 25 October the main opposition Law and Justice party leads with 36 percent, 12 percent more than the ruling Civic Platform of Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz.

According to the survey, support for the Civic Platform, has increased by one percent and the Law and Justice party has decreased by two percent since the September polls.

The rock-star turned politician Paweł Kukiz, can expect six percent of expected voters and is the leader of the only other party to have more than the five percent minimum to enter the parliament.

The United Left party, agrarian Polish People's Party, and the new liberal party, Nowoczesna.pl led by economist Ryszard Petru, each have four percent of declared votes. Far right KORWiN has three percent of the vote.

Undecided voters made up 19 percent of the polled.

In line with the survey, 26 percent declared they will definitely vote in the upcoming election. 18 percent claimed they will definitely not vote.

Nine percent of those surveyed, do not know if they will or will not vote in the upcoming elections.

The poll questioned 978 people, of voting age, living in Poland and took place on the 2-7 October. (ua/rg/rk)
