Police have confirmed that a 38-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man have been charged in connection with the abduction.

Procedures have yet to be completed against the remaining three detainees.

The suspects were detained in Warsaw, Kraków and Starachowice.

Police are still looking for the boy,” confirmed spokesperson for the force, Alicja Śledziona.

However, she noted that the child's father is the chief suspect.

The 3-year-old was abducted on Tuesday by three masked men.

The child, named only as Fabian, was taken from a stairwell in a block of flats in the city at 6.50 am, local time.

He was being taken for a walk by his mother, before attending kindergarten.

It is understood that the parents had been involved in a custody battle over their son. (nh/rk)
