Five people have already been detained in connection with the abduction, after three masked men pounced on the boy and his mother on Tuesday morning.

Investigators believe that the father may have taken 3-year-old Fabian out of the country, and a European Arrest Warrant may also be issued.

A man purporting to be the father of the boy sent a fax to the police earlier this week, admitting to taking the child.

It is understood that the parents had been involved in a bitter custody dispute.

The boy was taken from a stairwell in a block of flats in Radom on Tuesday at 6.50 am, local time. (nh/rk)
