The Minister said that the summit, which will decide on the development of NATO bases in Poland and the constant presence of Alliance troops in the country, is an important part of the strategy of the Ministry.

“The summit in Warsaw, will be decided whether Poland is a normal, equal member of NATO, and whether the same rules which apply to Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and other countries also apply to Poland; or whether we are second class,” Macierewicz told the Radio Maryja station.

The NATO summit is important for Poland's Law and Justice (PiS) government to cement the country's position in the Alliance. (rg)
