Wet snow leaves Polish homes without electricity

Around 30,000 homes across Poland have been left without electricity after heavy, wet snow damaged power lines and caused branches to fall on cables.

Some 13,000 households were left without electricity early Thursday in the southern Małopolska region, and about 12,000 in the south-central Świętokrzyskie region. Other regions were also hit.

Road authorities said that all main national roads were open to traffic but warned drivers to keep their speed down. (pk)
