The documents follow the release of files handed out to journalists and historians on Monday which appeared to provide evidence that former Solidarity trade union leader Lech Wałęsa was a collaborator of the communist secret police between 1970 and 1976.

Wałęsa has said he has “nothing to admit to.”

The 20 different documents released on Wednesday are mainly historical.

The documents include fragments of memoirs written by Kiszczak and his handwritten notes on various issues.

Czesław Kiszczak was a communist interior minister between 1981 and 1990 and died in November 2015. (rg/pk)
