Four men arrested on suspicion of terrorism

The Internal Security Agency (ABW) has arrested four men in Olsztyn, northeastern Poland, one of whom was in possession of over 5 kilogrammes of explosives.

The other three were accused of owning guns and ammunition without a licence.

The men, all Poles, were suspected of planning a terrorist attack.

The District Attorney in Olsztyn said that due to the nature of the investigation, he did not want to divulge any of the details.

Based on the evidence presented to the prosecutor, one of the men, identified as Wojciech K. (full name classified under Poland's privacy laws), was arrested in a village on the outskirts of Olsztyn. He is suspected of being in possession of explosive substances weighing more than 5 kg and collecting chemicals to make bombs. (rg)
