More hypothermia deaths in Poland

Three people in Poland have died of hypothermia in the last 24 hours, the authorities said on Sunday morning amid an ongoing Arctic chill.

In total, 56 people have died of hypothermia in Poland since 1 November last year, Polish Radio reported.
Family, Labour and Social Policy Minister Elżbieta Rafalska has appealed to Poles to step in and help if they see someone who may be at risk of freezing.
The Government Security Centre has appealed to the public to inform the authorities if they see homeless people sleeping rough who could be at risk of hypothermia.
Temperatures in some areas of Poland plunged to below minus 20 degrees Celsius overnight Saturday-Sunday.
