Polish PM announces review of government

Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło on Tuesday announced she will review the work of her government, with ministers to outline their plans for this year.

Szydło told a press conference that ministers will have an opportunity to sum up their achievements so far, and will “present proposals for new tasks that will be implemented by the government."
Asked by journalists if the review would result in a government reshuffle, Szydło said: “Talks about improvements and more effective work by ministries will also take place.”
She added, however, that the focus will be on outlining new tasks for ministries.
The review is to last two weeks, starting on Wednesday, when Szydło will meet Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz, Interior Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, Health Minister Konstanty Radziwiłł, and Labour and Social Policy Minister Elżbieta Rafalska.
Szydło heads a conservative government that was appointed after her Law and Justice (PiS) party swept to power in late 2015, scoring a landslide win in parliamentary elections.
