Poland is to introduce digital versions of ID cards, driving licences and car registration documents, Anna Streżyńska, Poland’s Minister of Digital Affairs, has said in an interview with the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily.

Streżyńska said that such changes would be convenient for Poles, as drivers would be able to carry their digital documents on a mobile phone.

She added that for many years Polish institutions have been behind the latest trends and it is time they went hi-tech.

Streżyńska also said that digital documents will be optional, and Poles who are wary of modern technology will be able to keep their traditional documents, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reported.
