"More good news today- unemployment in Poland has fallen to 8.1 percent. That shows that we are a dynamically developing country, a dynamically developing economy," Szydło told reporters.

She added: "This economic data which shows that positive consumer sentiment is increasing, positive sentiment among entrepreneurs is growing, that all indicators relating to industrial output, export, are improving, relating to the fall in unemployment -- that shows very clearly that the economic plan were are carrying out is a plan heading in the right direction."

Szydło said that "there would be no successes and this positive data if not for Polish entrepreneurs."

The country’s Central Statistical Office said on Wednesday that unemployment in Poland dropped to 8.1 percent in March from 8.5 percent in February.

Earlier this month, the Polish Labour Ministry estimated that unemployment in March had dropped to 8.2 percent, the lowest level for the month in 26 years.

In this year's budget bill, the government predicted that the unemployment rate would be 8 percent towards the end of the year.
