Poles spend 12 hours a week on average online, similarly to recent years, according to the survey by pollster CBOS.

Almost all internet users (98 percent) surf the web at home. Nearly half (49 percent) go online at school or work, while only 2 percent use internet cafes.

More than half (54 percent) of respondents said they have shopped online, while 24 percent have sold items online.

The figure for people regularly shopping on the internet is similar to that in the last two years.

The most popular items purchased on the web are clothes and shoes, followed by toys and baby goods and electronic equipment.

According to the survey, electronic banking is popular in Poland, with two-thirds of internet users using online bank accounts.
