Speaking after Saturday’s "Poland Great Project" congress in Warsaw, Jarosław Kaczyński, head of the Law and Justice (PiS) party, which swept to power in late 2015, told the niezalezna.pl website: "We now have a great attempt to repair Poland and we are slowly succeeding".
Asked about what should be the government's primary focus, he said: "We must pursue a policy that is primarily focused on social interests."
"This provokes such fury [among the government's critics], because until now [under the previous government] policy was dictated by various privileged groups," he said.
Asked about the most important challenges that Poland is facing right now, he said that Poland should "rapidly increase its economic, cultural and military resources - in order to become a secure and fully stable country." (mol/pk)
