The captain decided to return to Gdańsk. None of the nearly 90 passengers on board the Swedish SAS airline flight were injured, said Gdańsk airport spokesman Michał Dargacz.

After landing everyone on board left the plane via emergency exits. The passengers were taken to a special room where they were waiting for other connections to the Danish capital.

Dargacz said that take-offs by other flights were suspended during the emergency landing.

The reason for the smoke appearing in the plane’s passenger cabin is not yet known.
