Wesele, or The Wedding, in February won a popular vote to be read publicly across Poland on National Reading Day, an event aimed at promoting reading and national culture, set up in 2012.

Last year, Nobel-winning author Henryk Sienkiewicz's Quo Vadis was read in a public in Warsaw. Famous actors read to a crowd, which included Duda and his wife, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, for 11 hours, while the book was also read aloud in more than 2,200 other places in Poland and abroad.
