The operation in Wodzisław Śląski, southern Poland, was run by an international organized crime gang, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
It added that the cigarettes produced in the illegal factory were distributed in Poland and in other European Union countries.
Police detained four Poles, two Czechs and two Slovaks at the site. The authorities also seized a million cigarettes.
Police experts say the gang could produce up to a million cigarettes over eight hours at the factory.
