Polish police bust suspected gang of car thieves

Polish police have detained 11 people and recovered 60 vehicles after swooping on a suspected gang of car thieves.

Poland’s Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP) worked with German police and Europol.
Investigators believe the thieves may have been stealing vehicles in Germany as well as in Poland, targeting passenger cars and vans, mainly Volkswagen and Renault models.
Stolen vehicles are believed to have been dismantled in workshops near Gorzów Wielkopolski, western Poland.
Investigators have submitted motions for the seizure of property worth over PLN 5.5 million ($1.6m, 1.3m euros).
