Two of the suspects have admitted they carried out the killings, Ziobro told reporters.

Jaroszewicz and his wife were murdered on the night of August 31, 1992, in their villa in Warsaw.

Attackers tied a leather strap around Jaroszewicz’s neck. His wife Alicja died from a shot to the head from a rifle belonging to her husband.

Four suspects were detained in 1994 over the killings but protested their innocence. They were acquitted in 1998 because of a lack of evidence.

Prosecutors reopened the case in the middle of last year.

Ziobro told reporters on Wednesday: "There is no such thing as the perfect crime."

Jaroszewicz was Poland’s prime minister from 1970 to 1980. After leaving office he lived quietly until his brutal murder.
